  3.           This patch archive will update all previous
  4.           versions of ExtenDOS to version 1.21.

  6. Introduction

  9.   This patch updates Anodyne Software's ExtenDOS package to
  10.   version 1.21.  After applying this patch, you will have the
  11.   following versions of these ExtenDOS modules:
  12.       CD.BOS         1.6
  13.       EXTENDOS.PRG   1.4
  14.       TRACE.TTP      1.6
  15.       UNIDRIVE.DOS   1.5
  16.       UNI_BDDS.DOS   1.5
  17.  
  18.   NOTE: All users of ExtenDOS version 1.20 should apply this patch
  19.   since it fixes several significant problems in version 1.20.

  21.   We also strongly recommend that all users of ExtenDOS v1.0, v1.1,
  22.   and v1.11 apply this patch.

  48. What is needed to update
  49. ========================
  50.  
  51.   .   This archive file, and:

  53.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.20, or
  54.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.11, or
  55.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.1, or
  56.   .   An un-modified ExtenDOS distribution diskette, version 1.0.

  59. How to update
  60. =============
  61.  
  62.   1.  Make sure you have made a backup copy of the ExtenDOS distribution
  63.       diskette.
  64.  
  65.   2.  Copy the PATCH121.TOS file to the ExtenDOS distribution diskette.
  66.  
  67.   3.  Run PATCH121.TOS by double-clicking on it from the desktop.  For
  68.       each of the modules CD.BOS, EXTENDOS.PRG, UNIDRIVE.DOS & UNI_BDDS.DOS,
  69.       the program will create a backup copy of the original module (with
  70.       a .BAK extension) and then patch the original copy.  The final
  71.       message should be "All modules patched successfully".  If not,
  72.       please read the error messages carefully; they should indicate
  73.       what the problem is.
  74.  
  75.   4.  Replace the following files on your distribution diskette with
  76.       the corresponding files from this archive:
  77.         READ.ME
  78.         TRACE.TTP
  79.  
  80.   5.  (Optional step) Copy CHECKIT.TOS and CHECKIT.CTL to your ExtenDOS
  81.       distribution diskette, and double-click on CHECKIT.TOS.  It will
  82.       perform a simple checksum verification on each of the files you
  83.       updated/replaced in steps 3 & 4 above.  If you get any messages
  84.       indicating that a module failed to verify, it's probable that
  85.       your newly-updated copy of ExtenDOS is invalid.  Try obtaining
  86.       another copy of this archive and redoing the update.  Alternatively,
  87.       you can order an updated copy from Anodyne Software: please see
  88.       below under "If you get an error message" for how to order.

  90.   6.  Once you have finished updating your distribution diskette,
  91.       make a backup copy of this newer version.
  92.  
  93.   ** VERY IMPORTANT STEP, READ CAREFULLY **
  94.  
  95.   7.  To install this version on your system, you MUST replace the
  96.       following files in your system with the corresponding files from
  97.       the newly updated disk:
  98.  
  99.         CD.BOS
  100.         EXTENDOS.PRG
  101.         TRACE.TTP
  102.         UNIDRIVE.DOS
  103.         UNI_BDDS.DOS
  104.       
  105.   8.  Please take the time to read the new READ.ME file carefully.
  106.       It contains information about all the new features of ExtenDOS
  107.       v1.21, particularly photoCD support.

  110. If you get an error message
  111. ===========================
  112.  
  113.   If you get an error message during the patch process and cannot
  114.   resolve the problem, you can mail us the diskette so that we can
  115.   update it.
  116.  
  117.   To have your diskette updated by us, you need to:
  118.  
  119.   1.  Send in your original ExtenDOS distribution diskette.
  120.   2.  Enclose a cheque for $5 + $2 shipping & handling ($7 total).
  121.   3.  Enclose a note with your name, address, and daytime phone number.

  123.   In return you will receive a diskette containing ExtenDOS v1.21.
